About
Alexander Technique Workshops
Learning the Alexander Technique in
a workshop setting has specific advantages. Students not only receive
help from a skilled teacher, but can also learn by observing other
students in the class as the teacher works with them. Students also
benefit from other participants feedback. There is always
a good deal of interaction between the teacher and the students
as well as between students.
Each student in the workshop will have
the opportunity to learn how to improve whatever activities they
choose to focus on. These can be as simple as sitting in a chair
and walking to specialized skills such as playing a musical instrument,
using a computer, public speaking and practicing a martial arts
form.
Workshops can range in size from a
half-dozen to well over fifty participants. For larger workshops,
it is usually advisable to have more than one teacher so that part
of the time can be spent in smaller groups.
Students who want to maximize learning
can also choose to have individual Alexander Technique lessons.
These could be scheduled before or after the workshop.
