Branding yourself is one of the most important things that you can do as an entrepreneur. It’s essential to your success and it doesn’t take a lot of time or money. The first thing you need to do is make sure that you’re defining your goals and objectives. If not, then it’s really hard to build a brand around something. What does the company actually want? Once you know what those things are, then we can take them into consideration with how we approach branding for their personal brand or corporate branding.

So I think one of the best ways to figure out who somebody is as an individual is understanding some basic demographics like where they went to school and what companies they worked at before this job because those establish patterns in terms of what type of industry they work in now, skillsets that they might have developed there, etcetera; whether or not people expect certain education levels from different industries and jobs–so that’s a good place to start.

And once you have that, then it’s about choosing how they want to present themselves and what makes them unique. I think everybody has different things that make them unique so being able to identify those things would be the first step in building out their brand story–what are some of the most interesting things about this person? Because not everyone is going to stand up at an event and say “Hi! My name is Joe.” Everybody doesn’t need a slogan or a tagline but people do need stories which kind of leads into my next point: storytelling.

I think one of the best ways somebody can build their personal brand is by helping other people tell stories through their work whether its writing, speaking engagements, or even graphic design. If somebody can use different mediums to help others’ stories be told through their brand, then they’re going to leave a lasting impression on people and that’s what you want as an individual–you don’t really want a temporary impact; you want something that lasts for years because it impacts your career just like it does your personal life.

Finally, the last thing I think is important about branding yourself is managing expectations which ties back into knowing where someone wants this company or themselves to go. You need clear goals in place so we know how successful we are at achieving those goals by looking at metrics and numbers rather than feelings and emotions.
